Alex: I have a terrible little heroin addiction going on right now. It’s sort of jumbled up life a bit.
BW: How did you get started on heroin?
Alex: Like most people [who are heroin addicts], I started messing around with pills in high school. By the time I tried heroin, I was already a full blown opiate addict. Heroin was just a cheaper alternative.
BW: I hear that from a lot of people.
Alex: Yeah, that’s like how 90% of the people that I know got started. I mean, in this day and age, everyone knows that heroin is terrible. Nobody wakes up one day and says, “I Want to shoot heroin.” By the time they get to that point, they usually have a pretty bad opiate addiction going already.
The addiction is obviously not something I enjoy. It’s kind of like a love affair. I love it and I hate it at the same time. When you’re high it’s the best feeling ever, you know? It’s better than sex. Better than anything on the planet! At the same time, I know it’s ruining my life.
Back when I was living kind of a normal life, honestly it wasn’t all that great. But the worse my life got, it’s like, the better it makes things for me. I don’t know… it’s so weird.
