Barbara: I lost my mom when I was 6 years old. We were in a car crash and they pronounced my mom and my brother dead, but I survived.
I stayed with my sister and was molested most of my life by different men. Since I came back to Atlanta I’ve been raped twice.
Right down there, this guy grabbed me from behind, smothered me and when I fell, I hit my eye on a bottle. Glass went in my eye. I went to the hospital and the doctor gave me a shot, bandaged it and told me to put ice on it for three days. Mold got in my eye and I can’t see out of that eye anymore.
I went back to the hospital and they told me that it would cost twenty five to thirty five thousand to get a fake eye. How can I do that when I’m homeless?
