Tina: It was horrible growing up with my mom. What she would let happen to me when I was a child… She took in this man from jail who raped and molested me and then she married him.
BW: How old were you when that happened?
Tina: Well, I was being molested when I was younger but when this guy came in from prison, I was 11. He started molesting me when I was 11 and raped me by the time was 13. She married him when I was 15. She didn’t believe anything I said.
BW: So, you told her about it?
Tina: Oh yeah. This one time I even had his hand print across my face and I had bitten him on the chest and she believed that I wanted it. That I asked for that at 13.
BW: How did it stop?
Tina: My brother started getting violent with him. It made me toughen up too.
BW: Do you think you’ll ever forgive your mom?
Tina: No. I walk around with so much anger through my life. It’s like having a chip on my shoulder that I can never get off.
